Pre-flop (The first round of betting)

The first betting round takes place before the first three community cards are dealt. This action is described as "pre-flop" and at this stage players are betting based solely by their two concealed "hole cards". The player sitting to the left of the "Big Blind" acts first. Next players act in turn moving clockwise around the table.

Players have the following options when their turn to act:

CHECK

A players does not want to bet any more chips to the pot.

CALL

A players wants to play the hand by matching the size of the current bet. At Pre-flop, it will be at least the size of the "Big Blind", and may be more chips if any other player raised the bet.

FOLD

A player no longer wants to play the hand, and is throwing his/her cards away.

CALL ANY

A players will call whatever the amount of previous bet is.

CHECK/FOLD

A player will not bet any more chips so if any other player raised the bet, he/she will fold the hand automatically. If not, he/she will check the turn.
